Lenses can be tested for High Velocity Impact at 2.0mm thick or more, keeping in mind that the criteria for each lens manufacturer and applied coating must be followed. That is, every combination of coating/material must be tested.

If you choose to dispense 3.0mm lenses, you may have them tested at 3.0mm thickness, with applicable coatings, and follow the marking criteria if they pass. Keep in mind that you must test by each manufacturer of lens material and coating combination. This is extremely important!

If you have lenses tested at 3.0mm, you may increase the thickness but you may not decrease the thickness to 2.0mm. You can only move up in thickness – you can’t go down to a thinner lens if you’ve had a thicker lens tested.

If you have lenses tested at 2.0mm, you may increase the thickness to 3.0mm. This applies to each combination of material manufacturer and applicable coatings.
