Currently, there are very few channels
available for doctors to train their staff, or for staff members who
wish to make a career out of Optometric Assisting or Ophthalmic
Dispensing through education and certification. It is for this reason
that Quantum Optical and
First Vision
Media Group have jointly developed a structured curriculum unlike
any which are currently available. We are proud to present the
Ophthalmic Personnel Training Initiative (OPTI).
OPTI is a cost-effective series of training modules for ancillary
staff. It is a structured curriculum, developed by the nation’s
leading ophthalmic educators. This program not
only prepares you for the national certification exams, but gives you
the tools to become more proficient at your job. This benefits you,
the patients and the practice!
OPTI consists of two distinct tracks, one for Paraoptometrics and one
for Ophthalmic Dispensers. After completing the appropriate level of
the Paraoptometric track, participants will be more prepared to sit for the
Certified Paraoptometric (CPO) or Certified Paraoptometric Assistant (CPOA)
exams administered by the American Optometric Association. After
completing the appropriate level of the Ophthalmic Dispensers and
Technicians track, participants will be more prepared to sit for the ABO or
NCLE exams, administered by the American Board of Opticianry /
National Contact Lens Examiners.
