The ability to converse about the behavior of light, and how it refracts, undoubtedly translates to better patient care. Through this course, the reader will survey various topics including light theory, reflections, refraction, Snell’s law, specific gravity, and prism. Each section provides a basic understanding of the primary thought patterns surrounding the topic. The student will find value in translating these newfound insights into useful, daily dispensing practices.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the participant should be able to: recognize the importance of physics within the optical setting; understand the basics of the electromagnetic spectrum and the behavior of light; survey basic mathematical formulas that are foundational to optics; gain a deeper understanding of prism application.
