Introduction:
This course will provide a general overview of the topic of low vision and provide an introductory level education on the devices associated with low vision.  It will also cover various medical conditions that can lead to significant visual impairment.  After completion of this course you should have a basic level understanding of low vision and have a greater knowledge of options available for these individuals.  This course is designed for opticians and other eye care professionals who have no prior knowledge or limited knowledge of these concepts.  Upon completion of the course the individual should have a confident understanding of the topic of low vision.  

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the participant should be able to: learn what low vision is and the difference from regular refractive errors; know the main causes of low vision and blindness; know what constitutes low vision; gain a general knowledge of the devices and other aides available to help those with low vision.
